About Me

I have lived in Chesapeake my entire life, except for the few years I have spent at Old Dominion University. I love sports and outdoor activities. My favorite thing in the world is to talk to random people and learn about their lives. I love random insight from people you would never usually talk to. I feel as though the more diverse people you get to know the more well rounded you can become. I like to think that I am very well rounded. I come from a big family, with 3 older brothers. I am the only girl and the baby, so I am a little spoiled, but also always on my toes, and a little bit of a tomboy. I went to both private school and public school in my high school career, and I must say I am a fan of pubilc over private. I am very goofy, and always down for a laugh. I come from a family full of jokesters, so I couldn't help but to come out the same way. I am very optimistic, very caring, and very loving. My philosophy in life is to live, laugh, and love. I believe that you have to be optimistic, especially when times are hard. If you walk out into the world assuming the worst, the worst will happen to you. If you walk out with your head held high, and a smile on your face the world will smile back at

you.

Philosophy of Education

Sadly, today there are poor teachers in schools everywhere. There are also aspiring teachers unable to get jobs as well. The difference between a good teacher and a bad teacher is the relationship with their students. A good teacher is trusted by the students in the classroom. With trust comes respect, with respect comes admiration, and if your students admire you, not only will they listen, but they will look up to you. The way to get a student to trust you is if you let them know you only have their best interests in mind. Also, you must teach them in a way that they are inspired. This is done through class involvement, whether it be heated discussions, or hands on activities. If your student feels as though he/she can talk to you in the classroom it is more likely that they feel comfortable to talk to you outside of the class curriculum. This is when teachers are able to connect to their students on the level to become a positive influence in their lives.
