Hello, my name is Ashley. I am eighteen years old attending Old Dominion University as a freshman.I was born on December 24, 1990 in Newport News, Virginia. My hometown is Hampton, Virginia which is about twenty minutes away from campus. Even though I live on campus, I go home just about every weekend to see my friends and family. My close family consists of my mom, sister, and my two year old niece. I love my niece more than anything and she is a huge priority in my life. I have two dogs that I absolutely love. A three year old chihuahua and an eleven year old dachshund. I enjoy going to the beach in just about any season. When I have the money, I go to the mall and splurge on clothes and shoes. I have an open mind and enjoy taking risks and trying new things.                                                                                                                                  

My major at ODU is pre-nursing. This is one of the most competitive programs in the health sciences department, so I am working hard to be accepted. Although I am expecting to get into the nursing program, my second choice of majors would be psychology. I enjoy taking care of people and making a difference in someones life which is why I chose to major in the medical field. My overall goal after I graduate from ODU is to become a nurse either at a hospital or a small doctors office. I want to specialize with children so I would choose the route of pediatrics or neonatal which would be with babies. Any path I choose I know I will be passionate and satisfied.
