 BLACK Friday!!!!!

every year the Friday of Thanksgiving, we have something called Black Friday. This happend all throughout the US, and it is when all stores are on major sales, and sometimes even give some things out for free!!! This is one of the most amazing and exciting days for all women, around the country. We all wake up at 12 at night, get dressed and head straight out to the malls to see what we can get this year! This is the bigggest sale day besides the Holiday Sales which happen in mid-December.

-feel free to add any detail if you wish too!

Favorite thing to do y09-tl1-1b-2a.png

The seventh graders prefer to play sports after school.

Not only boys play sports. Many girls are into Soccer and Baseball.

Also many people like to hang out with friends, just like me. Peoples least favorite thing

to do is shop and do ballet. The second favorite thing to do it listen to music. Kids

love music. You can go to the Pollard Music Page to check out what types of music

kids like. -Starz

New and exciting things happening around Needham!

Just about two months ago, in Dedham(our neighboring town) demolished a Movie Theatre, and rebuilt it with a new place call the Legacy place. It has lots of places to shop, eat, and just hang out with friends. They built it when summer was ending so not a lot of people have gone there, but I'm sure that this spring it will be THE PLACE to be. They built a whole new movie theatre, and it is a bit expensive, but it is worth it because the seats are so comfortable, and they have a lot of good food  chose from. If you come to Needham, I'm sure you will be told about the Legacy Place, and you don't want to miss it!!!

Harvest Fair By erin g and hanna j

In Needham every year there is a fall harvest fair. Everyone can go to it.

Adults

For Children

There are many things for children. Such as,

For The  Family (all ages)

Food

You can buy a wide variety of different foods set up at stands and tables to buy. Some of the food there are it,

Harvest Fair y09-t1-2b.png

This survey asked 13 Pollard Middle School students if they have ever been to the Needham Harvest Fair. 54% of the people had been to the Harvest fair at leat once and 46% of the people have not been to the Harvest fair.  So the majority of the people that i surveyed have gone to the Harvest Fair at least once. it didnt really surprise me because i know when iu go that there is a lot of people. I think if we interview the whole 7th grade, we would get a lot of people who have gone to the harvest fair. I think that because when i go mostly every year i see a lot of people there and there are also i lot of people i do not know there.

What Seventh Graders Do Around Needham

What do seventh graders do around needham? Alot. At your school we have half days where we get out of school before lunch. On half days most seventh graders walk into the town center (we call it 'uptown') to eat lunch and go to CVS. Some resturants we go to are:

For more information about resturants, go to [1]

Pollard restarunts

We also tend to hang out at CVS and make the owners mad (because they think we're going to shoplift). Last half day the manager was standing outside and not letting anyone in-but i had tripped and my toe was bleeding so he barely let me and my friend in for band-aids. I think that they mostly watch us like that because some of the older grades DO shoplift-and they think we do it to.

Recently, our only movie store closed down!!! Hollywood video is no longer here, people!!!! i went to rent something on Saturday, and there was a sign that said 'out of business'. So now i don't know where we will get our movies... but i think they may be either re-locating, or maybe a new movie place will move in. The sad part is that it's been there forever (well at least since i moved here in 2002), so yaaaaa. :'(

Some other things we do here, are: hanging out at each others houses, having seepovers, etc. Mostly on the weekends we will be at our friends houses. At least thats what i do. We also have sleepovers and stay up really really late. One time my friends and i stayed up until 3:00 am, and i know someone who stayed up until 6:00 am.

From Clipboard.gif

as you can see, kids love to hang out with friends on half days and eat lunch with their closest friend....talk about gossip, and share a great cold cup of soda!

this survey was asked in my compuers class, and there was a total of 21 kids, and he results were very much expected. This is because every time its a half day, you can see how packed the streets are with kids from both the middle and high school.

What else we do around here

what else do seventh graders do around here? stuff. there aren't many shopping opportunities, so we generally go to other towns like Natick (the natick collection), newton (the chestnut hill mall), and wellesly (various stores). If we want to go see a movie-then we have to go to some other towns also.

I SCREAM FOR ICE-CREAM!!!! --Dancingqueen101 14:54, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Now we all know how much kids like to eat their ice-cream. I don't think that any kids can go more then a month without eating ice-cream....it's just not right to do that to kids!!!!!

we have a few really good places to eat some really delicious 'affortable'ice-cream :

They come in all different flavors, colors, sizes and god knows what else.........I'm positive that you will find at least one thing that you will like!!

What lazy seventh graders do in their house

Before you read this, the following picture will test your ability, If you: have no reaction, then skip this article, if you have the urge to laugh, you are perfect, and if you burst out in laughter that wont stop for 3 and a half minutes when everybody is staring at you, then you should probably see a professional for help.
Funny?

When I was confined to my bed for 8 days (sick), that taught me about how to be lazy. First of all, you will need: a gaming system, this is usually a xbox, computer, Ps3. If you dont have one of these, you will definitly be bored out of your mind. If you have a gaming system, then you can go crazy with all of your games. If you have a computer, you will need to find: a video site, a gaming site, and a discussion site if you would like that as well. A simple google search titled games will bring you to a site, this site has very many links to other gaming sites when the games are loading, and the sites are usually better than the one you found first. Now that you have somthing to do, you will need to find a good source of food. Some poupular things to eat while at the house are:  Chips, Soup, Energy drink (caffine), and if you are a chef, some hot dogs, hamburgers, or a chicken. Have fun at your house, but remember, you will need to burn off all the weight you gain if you have a metabolism that stores way too much fat.

Snack Y09-T1-2b.png
Summary of Survey:

On the page I was workin on, I surveyed the class of 2b what snack food they liked the most of the list that I gave them. There were 14 people surveyed, the people liked choclate, beef jerky, and doughnuts the most. Popcorn, potato chips, and tortilla chips came last. The results were not a surprise to me because most of the people voted for what I would have voted for. The results if I had surveyed the other hundreds of seventh graders at my school would have been much more accurate but probably would not go far from what the results are now, because i think that since every option had atleast one vote, they would be near to what they would be, because eventually, with enough people, everything would be voted for.

Im done...

DANCES!!!

Every month or so, an organization comes to our school, and has a dance for us. They bring a D.J, that plays music of our choice, and they have food and drinks. Since our school has two gyms, one gym is for dancing and the other is to play basketball, or to just talk with frineds in a quiet area. The PTC(organization) also brings Ping Pong tables, so kids can play, while eating pizza and candy. This is a great time to come together with the whole grade, and a lot of kids come, and there is always something new to talk about and someone to dance with. Also

School fun

At our school sometimes we have spirit week. This means that the student council decides a certain week to have a collection of special days in. Next week happens to be our first spirit week of the year Which I am in that is how i know the sceduel!!!!!!!! Here is the schedule:

MONDAY: neon colors (dress up in neon colors)

TEUSDAY: jersey day (wear a sports jersey)

WEDNESDAY: advisory (homeroom) spirit day (your advisory picks a theme and you all dress up in that theme)

THURSDAY: lumberjack day (dress as a lumberjack-i have NO IDEA how or why they came up with this, im not on student council)

FRIDAY: needham colors (dress in needham colors-blue and gold)

Other interesting weekly things we do!!

besides having spirit week, the student council has designed a pumkin contest for all advosries. The goal is to create the most unique pumkin without carving it. So you can paint it, or glue things onto to it....anything decorative!!! then at the end of the week, the student counsil choses what they think is the best pumkin from each grade. Which ever advisory wins gets a breakfast meal for free, the following week. This is very exciting for students because if it envols food then we want it....we are very hungry kids...looking for any kinda food we can find!!!! Which was also Student Council... Again i am on student council so i can tell you that we put a lot of work into, spirit week and Pumpkin contests... Which we don't regret but everyone just gets so caught up in winning they don't even have fun! i know my advidery didn't we were fighting over  what to do and what not to do. It was hard and i'm sure it was hard for you to. This is why at Pollard we try to do the best that we could do!!!!!Sincerly Starz

to look at some pictures visit-  http://www.flickr.com/photos/pollardmiddleschool/page3/
