--Carlos.moraga 17:42, 24 November 2009 (UTC) Santiago and Valparaiso are beautifull cities, but I have lived much time in Santiago and I am bored of this and since I live in Valparaiso I like it. Santiago has a great and beautifull hill, this is the ‘Cerro San Cristobal’, this is a turistic place, it has parks, games and a fantastic view of Santiago City. Santiago also has many parks where to go for a walk, play or rest, some of these are ‘Parque Forestal’, ‘Parque Mahuida’ or ‘Parque O’Higgins’. But Valparaiso have many beautifull hills, some are turist, others are residentials and others are turist and residentials. Valparaiso also has sea, beaches and a grat Port. I like Valparaiso for these things and that Santiago has not. I love Valparaiso. Because Valparaiso is more beautiful and quiet than Santiago.

--Fernando 18:02, 24 November 2009 (UTC) I live in Quilpue and it is close to Valparaiso, place where I study. It is very important because when I entered to University I didn't have to move from home.

I like to live close where I study because I continue living with my family.

--Ecla 18:17, 24 November 2009 (UTC)i have lived in valparaiso all my life with my family, has been very good because i have their support all the time.
i like the hills , i feel strange in Santiago because its a plane place.
the thing most beautifull is the beach sunset.

--Dani 18:26, 24 November 2009 (UTC)I live in Valparaiso, is a pleasant place to do both, study and live with the family. Besides the city has beautiful space to share with friends in fun places as pub and outdoors activities.

--SergioB 18:39, 24 November 2009 (UTC)I've been here in valparaiso for 5 years, 3 of those i was living alone whit my older brother, and the last 2 years my parents have been here whit me, life with my parents i way too easy, i don't have to make food when i get home and even wash my clothes, but i can't do all the things I did before, but its ok too. i like this city, is really great. landscapes and sunsets are really amazing. life here is faster than living in south where i come but its not problem to me.

--Felipem 18:56, 24 November 2009 (UTC)Santiago is warmer than Valparaiso, because Valparaiso has sea and this is a climate regulator while Santiago is sorrounded of hills (Cordillera de los Andes y Cordillera de la Costa).
They are cities so much differents. Valparaiso is a port and this is its principal industry, while than in Santiago the industries are mixed and not so concentrated.
Valparaiso has the advantage that the places are more near than Santiago, you easily can move in the plan of this city walking, although for hills you must better could use lift . Santiago has another advantages, for example: if you wish to go to concert or whatever massive show you will not have to move of the city. But, in Santiago you hardly could arrive walking to other place, because distances are bigger.
If you climb up Valparaiso's hills you will see a beautiful bay's landscape. Maybe that is the better of this city.In Santiago if you do same, for example in Cerro San Cristobal, you won't enjoy it. Perhaps if you do it after a rainy day you'll watch a different face of this city.
I prefer Santiago because is my hometown. Almost all my life i've lived there, i like that in just one city you can see almost all faces of Chile. Diversity is the key. Well, also it has many specials places for me.

However, it just a personal opinion. It would be wrong to say about which is better than other because it just depends of your own preferences.

--Melissa 19:23, 24 November 2009 (UTC)My name is Melissa, I am from Iquique and the difference between Iquique and Valparaíso is that Iquique has spectacular beaches and Valparaíso doesn't, and if Valparaíso has beaches, they aren't pleasant. Other difference is that the climate of Iquique in all year is fabulous, it does not exceed 24 º and it doesn't have grades below 18º, instead Valparaiso at sometimes it gets very hot and sometimes it's cold to death.    Now a similarity between Iquique and Valparaíso is that both cities are tourist, and are visited by large numbers of people. Besides both cities have ports.

--Karina 19:35, 24 November 2009 (UTC): i'm from Antofagasta and Calama. Antofagasta has a warm and pleasant climate, however Valparaiso is cooler and more rain. In the university I met many people struggling, and I have cute friends, but being away from my family has been very difficult. I miss picarones, sopaipillas (typical chilean food) mede in my home (in Antofagasta), in Valparaiso i haven't my mother.

Difference: Antofagasta , great part of its superficie is plane, Valparaiso have many hills.

Calama, have a climate dry, is desert. Valparaiso is port and its climate is humed.

Similitude: Antofagasta and Valparaiso are ports.

Calama and Valparaiso are representatives cities of Chile.

--Moises 19:54, 24 November 2009 (UTC) I live in Valparaiso, I chose  this city because it is the perfect city to live if you are a student, in their constructions this city is meeting the modern with the old,  this city is the capital of culture.
I`m come from an island I live near the sea. I have  lived in Ancud for 15 years and in Valparaiso for 4. The difference between these cities is that Valparaiso is much biger and modern that Ancud. and the similaritie is the two cities are near the sea.

--Francisco Almonacid 20:08, 24 November 2009 (UTC): Well, I actually don't live in Valparaiso, but Viña del Mar is quite near to Valparaiso. At first time, to left behind your home is a serious business, because, is hard to leave your home, your town, your family. But, when you go to a new city, for studying, you meet new people, new activities, a new habit of life, so you get used with time. Melipilla and Viña del Mar are quite different, because, in Viña del mar, there is a lot of social and nocturnal activity, specially where I live. By the other hand, in Melipilla, at night is very silent.

Viña del Mar is a lot bigger than Melipilla, and more beautiful if you ask me. In Melipilla, if you want to go somewhere inside the town, you don't have to take a bus for going there, because is not a big distance (if you're hurry... well, you can take one), but in Viña del Mar, if you don't live in downtown, you must take one, because streets are very long.

When I lived in Melipilla, after school I had nothing to do, I mean, there aren't too much social center and things like that. In Viña del Mar, there are so many places for going if you ant to take a ride alone or with company, like the beach or some museum.

As an opinion, I like Viña del Mar more than Melipilla, because Viña del Mar is a better place for living.

Hi! My name is Ana Castillo.  As some of my classmates and friends. I live in Valparaiso on Cerro Polanco. Where I live I have a lot to near my home. For example, when I attend my Universities (USM), I have to take a bus and arrived ten minutes.

Also, to go out with my friends and family everything is just minutes when taking a bus or trolley: to go to the movies, go to the beach in the summer, go for a coffee somewhere or go out dancing.

--Andrea.perez 02:05, 30 November 2009 (UTC )Hi ! I'm Andrea, I live in Valparaiso with my parent and i can say that it´s a very good experience because they can help me when i need it, and i recive your love everydays. Also living near to University is advantageous because you don't have to travel a long time everyday and you can continue to see your friend whenever you want.
